Test run

By W.H.

We will now be attempting a test of the sportymcbloggin remote abilities. Some quick thoughts on some recent developments.

- Jay Cutler isn't wanted in Denver? Since when do 25 year old franchise quarterbacks get traded without running themselves out of town?

- The Tyler Thigpen era is over in KC. If he was a first round pick with guaranteed money he could crap himself on the field for two years and keep his job. But a late round pick who costs nothing has to win a Super Bowl to keep his job (see Tom Brady, Kurt Warner).

- Manchester United, at this moment, is defending champions of The Premier League, The Carling Cup, The FA Community Shield, The UEFA Champions League & The FIFA Club World Cup. Too bad their main sponsor is AIG. Maybe once the US government buys AIG they'll send everyone free Ronaldo & Rooney jerseys with our tax refunds, in order to encourage "plan 2010" or whatever it's called.

- If you thought morning sports talk radio was bad in STL, try the post-drive time nonsense. Some out of breath joker was yelling in the mic for 10 minutes about Kurt Rambis and on another station Rick Majerus compared his SLU players to soldiers on Omaha Beach.

- Why is every spring training game score like 9-8?

Well that's a good enough test for now. Killer will be back later this week defending fighting in hockey. And I'll have a piece on coping with the "Juice Era".
